Can't join but would like to come another time? Please let us know! Artdocent@CottageLakePTA.org
Art Docents teach monthly art lessons to their class using the curriculum provided by the Northshore School District. You do not need any art teaching experience; you just need the love and patience to create art with students. We will train and guide you through the rest!
The Northshore School District has created a strong curriculum with lesson guides, great artists & artworks, and suggested art projects. More information about the Northshore Art Docent Program can be found here: https://www.nsd.org/get-involved/volunteer/art-docent-program
Step 1: Register to Volunteer
Apply online to be a volunteer at Cottage Lake. You will need to have a level 1 background check.
(If this is your first time volunteering at Cottage Lake, you will need a quick one-time orientation with Principal Welch. Contact the main office for scheduling. (425)408-4200)
Step 2: Consider becoming a member of the CLE PTA
The Art Docent Program is funded by the Cottage Lake PTA.
PTA members help make decisions about events and programs at our school. Join the PTA.
Step 3: Coordinate with your fellow class Art Docents:
Email to connect with your fellow Art Docents! Discuss how you would like the year to go. If you would like to designate a lead coordinator, please do so. Contact your classroom’s teacher to discuss times and ideas for monthly 1-hour Art Docent lessons.
