The Glow Dance is coming to Cottage Lake Elementary the week of November 3–7! You earned this special celebration through your amazing efforts in the Fun Run, Walk & Roll - way to go, Sailors!
The schedule will be as follows:
2:30-3:00 (30 minutes) Grades K-2 Glow Dance
3:10-3:55 (45 minutes) Grades 3-5 Glow Dance
Gym: The Dance Dude will host and lead dances in the Gym. The lights will be turned down, and the gym will be decorated with black lights. Glow sticks will be available to students should they choose to use them. Want to stand out? Wear white or neon—these colors glow best under black light!
Cafeteria: We will also host a sensory-friendly glow dance in the cafeteria, which will be more well-lit, and music played at a quieter volume. The cafeteria will also be decorated with black lights and glow sticks, which will be available to all students.
We will be playing the same music and doing the same dances in each space so students can display everything they have learned throughout the week and celebrate all of their hard work!
Support community members in need! In partnership with Hopelink and in honor of our Veterans, the PTA is hosting a single-day food drive. On Monday, November 10, bring non-perishable food items to school or to the Veterans Day assembly. Drop boxes will be located around campus.
Canned meals, canned meat (tuna, chicken), health cereal/oats, grains (pasta, rice, quinoa, barley), soups, broths, non-dairy milk (shelf stable), cooking oils, spices, salt, sugar, flour.
Baby items (food pouches, wipes, diapers sizes 4-7), hygiene items (feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrushes), paper items (toilet paper, paper towels), household items (Clorox wipes, reusable grocery bags, utensils).
It's that magical time of year once again - Book Fair is back! Proceeds from the fair directly benefit our library and our school community. Book Fair will be open during conferences, after school, and during lunch recess on non-conference days. It will also be open from 6:00-7:00pm before the PTA meeting on Tuesday Nov. 18th. To preview the fair, set up a student eWallet, or add Share the Fair funds for families in need, please visit the CL Library Book Fair website. Look for flyers sent home this week with more info and see below for fair hours and the volunteer sign up link. Thank you in advance for supporting our library, hope to see you there!
The Cottage Lake Elementary PTA is a 501(c)3 non-profit made up of parents, teachers, and community members working working to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities. While we’re an independent organization, we work closely alongside the school to support students, families, and staff.
The PTA helps fill funding gaps to make sure our kids have what they need—and goes beyond that to provide the ‘extras’ that make school special, from enrichment programs to community events.
