MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE

COMING TO COTTAGE LAKE ELEMENTARY APRIL 17TH - 23RD

We are working on gauging interest of student's wishing to participate. If your child thinks they would like to audition, please sign up here.

We have the amazing opportunity to bring back Missoula Children's Theatre this Spring! This year it will lead about 60 students in the full-length musical comedy, "The Little Mermaid". Our student actors and actresses will be cast and prepare an entire theater production - all in one week from April 17 - 22 with the help of two touring directors from MCT.

How It Works:

A tour team arrives in a given town in their “little red truck” loaded with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast. There will be an open audition for all students Monday, April 17th and the directors and cast practice together intensively. The two professional MCT directors exemplify professionalism and give energized support to all the young actors. Parents and grandparents are always amazed by what their children can pull off with focus and dedication in such a short time. MCT uses participation in the performing arts as a vehicle for children to develop the life skills (social, communication and adaptive skills, self-discipline, self-esteem, a strong work ethic, appreciation of the value of teamwork) necessary to answer challenges of the present day.

“The Little Mermaid” will have two shows on Saturday, April 22nd at the Cottage Lake Elementary School auditorium.

Audition Process:

All students at Cottage Lake Elementary may audition. There are roles especially suited for all ages, skill levels and experience levels. Auditions will take place in the gym. No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts at an audition. Students should come and be ready to have a good time! Please remember that everyone must stay the entire two-hours of the audition. Due to time constraints, anyone missing the initial audition may not be considered in the casting of the show. Approximately 50-60 students will be cast in the show. Pre-Registration for the audition is recommended.

Auditions will take place for all students on Monday, April 17th from 4:15 PM to 7:15 PM.

Please understand that we cannot allow guests to disrupt the rehearsals. Productive rehearsals depend on the focused work of the cast members involved.

Cost:

There is no charge for participation. It is fully funded by the Cottage Lake Elementary PTA.

Production Tickets:

Tickets for families and friends will be available for purchase in April.
